School Screenings That Inspire and Empower
Ignite the imaginations of your students with our specially curated Schools Sessions at the Byron Bay International Film Festival.
We've meticulously selected a range of films tailored to engage and educate, offering both Primary and Secondary school packages. BBFF provides teachers with an opportunity to expand horizons, stimulate discussions, and provide valuable educational experiences outside the traditional classroom setting.
We’re excited to offer Primary School students from across the region with the opportunity to see Future Council - directed by local filmmaker Damon Gameau, fresh from sold out sessions at the Melbourne International Film Festival.
This inspiring and rollicking journey, where ‘School of Rock’ meets ‘An Inconvenient Truth, results in the children forming a ‘Future Council’ to advise and influence the world's most powerful companies on their decisions that impact nature.
Our High School Session, Elemental Transitions, delves into identity and celebrates nature through a diverse lens. It examines the journeys of individuals across all genders, races, and ages, including fantastical characters, showcasing their challenges and transformations into stronger, more enlightened versions of themselves. This session covers a broad spectrum of themes including mental health, surfing, superheroes, coming of age, self-discovery, community involvement, and a profound appreciation for nature, all presented through beautifully crafted and moving productions.
High Schools are welcome to book Future Council, or add it on for a double-feature.
It’s an opportunity to enrich your students' learning journeys with the magic of cinema.
